It's Raya!! ( ep 2 )

today was the official kuih raya making day!! yay~ as i mention earlier, were gonna do two types of kuih raya this year, and today we made the oh-so compulsory one, which is the chocolate chip cookies!! my mom mixes the ingredient, and leave the rest of the process to me!! yay~

i don't wanna write so long, so i'll just use picces~




this is the dough initially prepared by my mom. the dough is supposed to look like that okay???




the dough was then shaped into lil cute balls and arranged on the trays. the tricky part of it is to ensure all the balls have the same size.




a fork was used to press the lil cute balls into the cookie shape. use some flour so that the dough won't stick to the fork. the deeper u press, the thinner the cookie, and the crispier and crunchier in gets... yumm!!




then, put inside the oven la!




18 mins later, this is what u'll get! and the smell~ perghh.. sabo, sabo..




these are the final product, ready for shipment!




notice this lil bottle? this is what i like to call, the forbidden bottle of cookies. i've chosen the darkest, crispiest and crunchiest among them all, and seal it away, only to be enjoyed by me and myself after raya! muhahaha!!!

It's Raya!! ( ep 1 )

hye minna! so much has happened to me today, so i thought that i would be a good idea to write about my raya holiday this year! so, i'm gonna start with day one okay!

let's start with sahur. well, the lack of it that is. the whole isi rumah (my mom, dad and I) overslept , so we only had time to make ourselves a cup of milo, and grab anything edible that we can put in our mouth. ( 3 rolls of loveletters for me! )

at 11.00, my mom and i went out. my dad had a meeting, so he couldn't come with us. there were 3 objectives for our quest earlier today, 1. get some kuih raya making materials 2. get my mom's specs fixed up 3. shopping for nothing in particular.

so firstly, we stop by kong wah, at jalan bunge raye,(for those who ain't from melake, i dun even know what significant is there for me telling u this) then, we go to fajar, the old sizen building by the haunted hotel at hang tuah mall~ ( u know, the one which went bankrupt, then changed name.. ) oh, at fajar, my mom bought me a new comforter set, yup, pink and green in color ;) to match my langsir~ haha.. she bought one for her room too, and a new bedsheet for my bro's room, which i found boring.. then she bought for me some some more, which in total cost 400 sumthing.. we had to use two trolleys to get everything to the car~ wahaha~

to buy the kuih raya stuffs, we planned to stop by tesco, but considering how bad the traffic was, we moved on to Jaya Jusco (JJ), ( which is really close by my house! ) but well, mom decided that it was too hot to shop, so we went straight home.. ngee~

OMG it's been so long since i've watch animax! wahh.. i wish we can get animax in casa.. huuhuuu.. MARA.. i beg of U.. there's a lot of new shows starting, like xxxholic and the horror japanese thing.. wah!! i wanna watch them so badly! hmm.. maybe i can download some while i'm home. -----> then my dad got home from work, and we decided to break fast at ---> KENNY ROGERS!! wee~

around 5, we left home (again) and stop by the mosque, ( my dad wanna pay zakat ) then straight to Mahkota Parade(MP)we go!! well, my dad parked the car there, then we crossed over to DATARAN PAHLAWAN!!! it's been so long man.. and it seems like melaka had come a long way since i left.. believe it or not, melaka has it's own : BIG APPLE DONUTS!!! *salute melaker* to those who dunno, a long, long time ago, there was a Dunkin Donut at MP, but then Starbucks came and took over, which is exact why i hate STARBUCKS!!!! gimme back my dunkin heaven U meanie!!!

in DP, my dad wanna buy himself a pair of raya shoes, which somehow reminded me the story Of Bunga Telur and Bally shoes~ haha.. as usual, my mom and i stroll around.. i've seen a few cute shoes, and some of em even got skulls, but nahh.. i figured it'll be better to shop after raya, with my sis, and some additional 'incentives'.. *winks*

it's a good thing my mom made a reservation first, cuz it was packed in kenny rogers.. ahh.. how the smell of chicken made me accidentally break fast early.. huhu~ but of coz i did't la.. but with so many good looking stuff on the table, anything is possible rite? my dad was fussing around, saying that we should break fast at 19:07 according to his watch.. and my mom was fussing over him being so impatient.. me? i was looking rather like this : =__="

the food was good, but the chicken was a bit dry.. oh well, everyone was too hungry to notice it i presume.. ----->

we took one last stroll through a bunch of shop, oh and wait : i saw it : yes : it's True : it : was : a : COSPLAY : SHOP!!! but i didn't had enuff time to explore it.. :( oh, we stop by at JJ and bought all the kuih raya supply! the usual, some eggs, flour, butter, yada, yada, yada.. we're gonna make two types of kuih : chocolate chip cookies and cornflake madu!!! the rest? kuih tunjuk la.. oh, i stopped by secret recipe and bought myself a yogurt cheese, my dad raspberry cheese, n my mom chocolate strawberry~

later that night, i watched MORTAL KOMBAT!!! OMG i can't beleive that i could remember all of the character's name!! huhuu!! well, i was a big fan of MK PC games myself.. no one can beat me in those type of game.. hmm.. i like using 'tanya' to kick my bro's butt.. but i dun think she was mentioned in the movee.. the thing that attracted me most about mortal kombat? i like trying out all of those gruesome fatality moves of course! ( but i gotta admit, MK in PS2 is way better than PC! )

then, after my parents went to bed, i stayed to watch .hack//roots. i never did watched that anime, but i find it kinda cool. then i took out my lappie and here i am a few hours later. writing this blog and flipping thru a few online manga! (=^_^=) oh yeah.. no bleach la dis week.. hurmm.. maybe its due to the change of airing time in japan..

oh well, i think the day has been good, and i'm looking forward for tomoro!

RM10.00 7-11 Pink Umbrella

i'm so not mentally and physically healthy. the week seemed a bit too long while in reality it's missing one day. still, i wish it could be shorter.

it's getting hard coping with all the papers. in fact, i feel as if that the tests are somewhat annoying. i can't enjoy a decent weekend with myself and me due to all the revision and exercises. nonetheless, i still sucked at studying, especially Maths, Bio, Chem, Physics, LAN, ESL. yup, i guess i'm doing fine with EAP, for the time being.

my voice has turned into a soundtrack from Ju-On. it hurts so bad at times, i wish i could have my tonsils removed. well, i want to, but i can't afford to miss the classes. some salt water is enough for me now. wait, there is no salt at my unit. oh well, whatever.

the weather kills me too. i had to stand in the rain today, waiting for the bus. thanks a million to athirah for sharing her RM10.00 7-11 pink umbrella with me. without her, i won't be blogging here tonight. uhh, can't whine about fasting. tak baik. but i have been eating bread with tuna for sahur and berbuka for all of this week. i won't e eating them tomorrow, because the bread will pass its' expiry date then.

reaching my unit today, soaked in rain, after fighting with the boys for a spot in the elevator, it struck me. i want to be a vet. why didn't i took up vet? my mom always said that i will be a great doctor kucing one day. so does my aunt, datuk, nenek, papa, and all of those who knew me since little. so, why? why didn't i took up vet? hmm..

animal has always been my passion, so, what's the hold up? reflecting about what the counsellor dude said the other day, maybe i needed sometime to realize my true passion is. but isn't it kinda too late for me? hurmm~ i could just switch over to ICPU here.. could i?

there's hope. but not that much. i guess i'll just have to study harder. can't dwell on it so much. huh. a girl who changes her mind often. don't marry me. lol
